Instead of stressing about keeping the kids busy this summer, Millennial parents are trying to recreate the kind of summer many of us grew up with!
I came across a list of screen-free summer activities, and it felt like stepping right back into the '80s and '90s.
The suggestions weren’t fancy: ride your bike, go on a scavenger hunt, make a fort, draw with sidewalk chalk, create friendship bracelets, write a comic book, or put on a show for the family.
That's it.
Those are the exact kinds of things many of us spent our summers doing - and they were birthed out of boredom! Haha
No streaming services. No tablets. No Wi-Fi passwords. Just imagination and maybe a garden hose.
Here’s the good news!: Even with all the technology we've added to our lives, the moments that often become the best memories are still the simplest ones.
Maybe this summer, the goal isn't finding something new to entertain our kids. Maybe it's giving them the chance to discover the kinds of adventures we used to create ourselves.
