Have you ever caught yourself complaining about something you once prayed for?
I have! While cleaning the house on a Saturday or getting woken up in the middle of the night because one of my little ones is scared... and I start feeling overwhelmed.
But then I remind myself: I prayed for these kids! I prayed for this family. This is the life I asked God for.
Just the other day, my kids begged for a Froster from the corner store, and then whined all the way home because they now have to carry it! I actually caught myself saying, “Fine, then I’ll go take it back!” I don’t want to do that with God! ...Pray for something, finally receive it, and then complain about the responsibility that comes with it?!
Philippians 2:14 says, “Do everything without grumbling or arguing.”
So, when that job gets you up early, the kids need you to drive them somewhere again, or the house needs cleaning, take a moment to be grateful. Your blessing might also come with a burden, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a blessing.
Don’t complain about the things you prayed for. Instead, ask God to help you appreciate them, even on the hard days.
